Frequently asked questions
How long should my Chrysler engine last?
If you service your vehicle at intervals recommended in your owner's manual and have regular oil and filter changes, your engine could last upwards of 200,000 kilometres. Every Chrysler engine is different. Our Service Advisors can let you know how long your vehicle's engine should last.
Is Mopar protection worth it?
Your existing vehicle warranty offers solid protection. Still, it’s a good idea to get additional protection. The great thing about Mopar protection plans is that they are flexible and can fit any budget. Plans are available for new, pre-owned, and lease vehicles.
How do I maintain the brakes on my Chrysler or Jeep?
Get your brakes checked at the proper intervals. You can help your brakes last longer by adding more distance when you approach a stop and apply the brakes gently.
How often should I change air filters?
If you drive in a polluted or dusty region, check your air filter when you have an oil change. A clean filter can improve your mileage by 10% and increases the life of your engine. We recommend using the same filter your engine came with on day one – a Mopar filter.
How often do I replace my fuel filer? Which brand do I use?
For most vehicles, a fuel filter replacement is typically needed between every 30,000 and 40,000 kilometres. Our Service Centre at Aurora Dodge can provide guidance on when to replace your fuel filter with an authentic Mopar filter. Remember, maintaining this crucial component not only improves your fuel efficiency, but also safeguards your car's fuel pump from potential damage.
How do I know when to replace my battery?
You’ll probably know when your care needs a new battery. The headlights may be dimmer, or the engine may take a while to start if it’s not been used for quite a few hours. Bring your vehicle to us and we can test your battery for you.
How often should I have my tires rotated and aligned?
Follow the schedule in your user’s manual for your make’s rotation and alignment schedule. Potholes, bumps, or curbs can throw wheels out of alignment. You may notice the steering pulling in one direction when you’re driving. When you park, you may notice uneven wear on your tires. If you hear or feel anything unusual when you’re behind the wheel, or spot uneven tire wear, bring your vehicle to us for an inspection.
How often should I fluids on my Dodge?
Give your fluids a visual check at least once a month and top them up if required. Obviously, you can’t see all fluids, and that’s why we check all fluids at every service – even if they’re not due for a check or a change. And of course, we top them up if required, too.
